End Girl Child Exploitation!

OUR FOCUS

We aim to create knowledge that helps society understand the problems that are impeding the progress of women, and lead to identifying solutions. We are passionate about research and publications that holistically and sustainably address critical issues that hinder girls' success in Africa. We also aim to combat illiteracy among women by providing mentorship, scholarship and educational resources to vulnerable girls in rural areas .

Child Marraige

Child marriage is prevalent in many African countries. According to UNICEF, sub-Saharan Africa has one of the highest rates of child marriage in the world. As of 2020, approximately 36% of girls in sub-Saharan Africa were married before age 18. Our research aims to address this widespread problem to understand its causes, effects, and potential solutions, with the goal of protecting and empowering girls and women in Africa.

Child
     Labor

Child labor in Africa is a significant problem, with 72 million children doing difficult work such as street vending. This practice hinders education, perpetuates poverty, and exposes children to hazardous conditions. Our research to combat child labor is focused on prioritizing education and social protection.

     Child Trafficking

Child trafficking is a significant and pervasive issue in Africa, affecting millions of children each year. According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Africa accounts for a substantial proportion of global child trafficking cases. This is why one of our research foci is investigating child trafficking in Africa. We conduct in-depth research to uncover the root causes and provide recommendations for prevention and intervention.

Girls' Education

Education for girls in African countries  like Sierra Leone is still lacking. Most often girls miss out on valuable school time in junior secondary and secondary school because of financial challenges and issues such as teen pregnancy and early marriage. Our Batu Swaray DIAMONDS Girls Scholarship empowers girls to attain education in rural Sierra Leone, by providing the support they need to thrive and reach their highest potential!
