Let Girls Be Girls!

African Women's Research Initiative for Social Empowerment

(African Women's R.I.S.E.) is a non-profit organization based in the United States. The organization uses education, research, publication, advocacy, and capacity-building as tools to address and combat pressing social issues that impede the success of disadvantaged girls in rural Africa. We prioritize research and publication initiatives that raise awareness and promote the rights and social empowerment of girls to engender positive changes for future generations of women in Africa.

We strive to create lasting change and empower the next generation of women through knowledge generation, building the capacity of vulnerable girls through scholarships and combating child exploitation.

Our Mission

To create a lasting impact for women’s advancement in Africa by developing the capacity of girls, promoting their rights and well-being through research, publication, advocacy, scholarship, and leadership development.

Our Vision

We envision a future in Africa where girls and women enjoy equal rights and opportunities and suffer no discrimination or gender-based violence and a society in which all children are protected from all forms of exploitation.
